Seattle was taken by storm this weekend as MOZ and Local University teamed up to put on the first of it’s kind “super event” for local search. LocalUp was a full day of serious local search, SEO, mobile and online marketing presentations that brought out some incredible speakers, ideas, tips and attendees into the fabulous MOZ offices.
Thriving In The Mobile Ecosystem
My presentation took a dive into the local search landscape in mobile with a heavy focus on how to approach designing the best mobile experience for your customer. My slide deck is embedded below.
Local Search Knowledge By The Ton
The combination of Local University faculty, MOZ staff and additional local search experts including Google My Business team lead Jade Wang made for an unbelievable line-up. Over a dozen presentations came at the 150 plus attendees covering just about every aspect of local search you could ask for. In addition to the presenters, it was a great audience that was very engaging at every break as well as the post event party. The knowledge share all around was incredible.
My presentation covering design methodology, responsive web design and mobile search results.

Great Events Crush On The Details
If you want to host an amazing event, ask MOZ for the blueprint. The awesome MOZ team has already become an industry leader with their MOZcon event and applied all of their sweet hosting skills for LocalUp. The event leads, the staff, founder Rand Fishkin and CEO Sarah Bird were all incredibly helpful, detailed and truly put on a world class event in their new office space.
